What this site is

BuildYourComputer.com is a free planning tool. It helps you pick PC parts, estimate cost and spot common compatibility problems. It gives general information, not professional advice.

Compatibility checks are not a guarantee

Our compatibility checks are automated and cover only common problems, such as socket, memory type, power and case clearance. They use specifications we collected by hand, which can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Manufacturers also change products without notice.

A result like "No problems found" means our checks didn't catch an issue. It does not mean the parts will work together. Before you buy, confirm compatibility with each manufacturer's specifications.

Prices are estimates

We update prices periodically, but they're estimates and may not match the seller's current price. Check the seller's website for the final price before you buy.

Purchases are with the retailer

We don't sell anything. When you follow a link and buy, you buy from that retailer under its terms. Orders, shipping, returns, refunds and warranties are between you and the retailer or manufacturer.

No warranty

This site is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate, but we don't promise that its information is complete, correct or right for your needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, BuildYourComputer.com and its owner are not liable for any loss or damage from using the site or relying on its information. This includes incompatible or damaged parts, damage during assembly, purchase costs, return costs, lost data and lost time. If we're found liable anyway, the most we'll owe is $50.

You decide what to buy and how to build it. Building a PC involves some risk, so follow each manufacturer's instructions.
